Surrealistic Eye Project

BCA Canada artists have been creating surrealistic eye drawing using sharpies, colored pencils, and oil pastels last week. In the beginning, students looked at human eye pictures and discussed how eyes can express our feelings without verbal language. We shared the idea of eyes being a "window to the soul".

Students looked at many surrealistic eye drawings and paintings including Belgian Surrealist painter, René Magritte's "The False Mirror".


To begin this project, students were asked to answer following questions to brainstorm ideas for their surreal eyes.
- What is important to you?
- What is your favorite place?
- What makes you feel happy?
